Emotionally Focused Family Therapy is a successful therapy that increases attachment between family members. Families develop interrelational cycles as a whole, and within pairs of relationships within the family. The purpose of EFFT is to access the underlying emotions that propel behaviours between family members. Each family member learns how to identify and express emotions linked to conflict, with a focus on the need for acceptance and compassion by all family members.
