Helping people face critical illnesses, Joanna’s therapeutic approach is empathetic, collaborative, and client-focused. She is passionate about helping people heal and grow holistically in a safe and nonjudgmental environment. She desires to journey alongside people stuck in their life situations, support them in discovering their resilience and strengths, and work together to reach their therapeutic goals. She has the heart to help couples and individuals regulate emotions, build loving and caring relationships, strive in life transitions, and face critical illnesses. Joanna is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) pursuing a Master's Degree in Clinical Counselling at Tyndale University. She employs an integrative approach in counselling to suit the needs of her clients. She may incorporate one or more therapeutic modalities, including Family Systems Therapy, CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), EFIT and EFCT (Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy and Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy).


Bringing with her over 25 years of actuarial practice in global insurance companies and close to 20 years of coaching and managerial experiences, Joanna is a great listener, insightful, analytical, compassionate, and collaborative. She is also a breast cancer survivor who understands the challenges of cancer patients and their caregivers. She is fluent in both English and Cantonese. Joanna has been married for over 25 years. For self-care and fun, she enjoys good food, working out, hiking, travelling, building miniature clay models, and spending time with her family and friends.
